| Club Trophies Each season the Club awards a number of trophies as listed below with the conditions that apply for each trophy. Normal club handicaps will be used except where otherwise indicated. The trophies can only be awarded to Members of the club except for the Achievement Trophy Athene Cup, Barton Broad Challenge Cup, Barton Broad Cruiser Challenge Trophy, Blackbird Sea Trophy, Consortium Cup, Nelson Trophy, Punt Championship Cups, Stella & Sundog Trophies and the White Horse Trophy. Achievement Trophy Presented by Mr & Mrs J Gill in 1999 and awarded at the Barton Cruiser Open event to the yacht, which is a member of the River Cruiser Class as defined by the class rules, which is placed highest in the overall results of the event, and has a handicap equal to or greater than the lowest of the handicaps as published in the green book, of the three yachts Achievement, No 11, Moonraker, No 22 and Matilda, No 300, whether or not any of these yachts is competing at the event. Adler Oar. Presented by the Adler Family in 1997 for Juniors under 14 sailing a special course for allcomers less punts during Junior Week. No handicap will apply. Athene Challenge Cup. Presented by Mrs Byron V Noel in 1929 for punts sailing in the Autumn River Race. Autumn Handicap Cup. Presented by Col D Scott in 1954 for Allcomers less punts. Points will be awarded each Sunday in August and September excluding Barton Regatta Sunday and the Special programme with four races to count. Barton Broad Challenge Cup. Presented by G Sambrooke Sturgess, Esq. in 1946 for punts sailing in the Barton Open Regatta Monday. First boat home wins. Barton Broad Cruiser Challenge Trophy. Presented by Mr & Mrs I Mason in 1999 and awarded at the Barton Cruiser Open to the leading yacht in the alternative part of the fleet to the Achievement Trophy. Batchelor Challenge Quant. Presented by Stewart Morris Esq. in 1932 for punts on the 1st Sunday in August. A special course will apply and there will be no handicap. Blackbird Trophy. Presented by Richard Sadler in 1996 for punts. It has been re-assigned to be awarded for the Autumn River race for the first punt over the water. Brundall Challenge Cup. Presented by Messrs J F Edge and W F Jermy in 1927 for punts. Points will be awarded each Sunday in August and September excluding Barton Regatta Sunday, the Special programme and Punt Championship Sunday with four races to count. Charles Wilson Challenge Cup. Presented by Mrs C B Wilson in 1958 for the first boat other than Punts in Allcomers on Punt Championship Sunday. Consortium Cup. Presented by Cox Bros. Consortium in 1997 for the Yare & Bure Open Meeting with three races out of four to count. Cuckoo Cup. Presented by Peter Bainbridge in 2002 for the Punt Championships. To be awarded to the 1st 18 and under, helm or crew. Curlew Challenge Cup. Presented by T J Whelpton and Miss Whelpton in 1948 for Lady members in Punts on first Sunday in August. Flag Officers Tankards. Glass tankards for Punts, Allcomers and Juniors in 1st series over the whole season excluding the Punt Championship Sunday. Gun Cup. Presented by Captain C B Wilson M C in 1936 for Punts sailing on scratch with ten races to count over the whole season, excluding Barton Regatta Sunday, the Special programme and Punt Championship Sunday. A special scoring system will apply - 1st place 3 points, 2nd place 2 points and 3rd place1 point. Handicap Points Cup. Presented by H Bolingbroke Esq. in 1947 for Punts with ten races to count over the whole season excluding Barton Regatta Sunday, the Special programme and Punt Championship Sunday. Hardchine Salver. Presented by C R D McDougall and D H Adler in 1993 for hardchine Punts. Points will be awarded over whole season excluding Barton Regatta Sunday, the Special programme and Punt Championship Sunday. Hardchine Trophy. Presented by C R D McDougall in 1993 for Hardchine Punts. To be awarded during the Punt Championship Weekend with four races to count. Harmer Paddle. Presented by T E Harmer Esq. in 1960 for Allcomers less Punts sailing a special course on first Sunday in August. with no handicaps. Hoseason Trophy. Presented by Mr & Mrs J Hoseason in 1998 for the Junior showing best endeavour during the season without necessarily winning. The award will be decided by the Flag Officers. Jubilee Bowl. Presented by the club to mark the N.P.C. Jubilee in 1976 for Allcomers on first Sunday in August. Special rules will apply and will be displayed on the pontoons. Moonraker Trophy. Presented by Dr and Mrs B M Tracey in 1950 for Allcomers less Punts. Points will be awarded each Sunday in May, June and July with eight races to count. Nelson Trophy Presented by Mrs J Jones in 1999 and awarded to the winner of the Barton Splash Open event. To be awarded to the highest placed 18 and under on the day. Orange Tip Cup. Presented by P H Simon Esq. in 1970 for Juniors less Punts. Racing will take place on four Sundays in late July and August excluding the Special Programme with three races to count. Pintail Challenge Cup. Presented by W F Jermy Esq in 1933 for Punts with sail number 46 or lower. Handicaps will apply and there will be ten races to count over whole season excluding Barton Regatta Sunday, the Special programme and Punt Championship Sunday. Punt Championship Cup. Presented by Mr and Mrs T H Clarke in 1969 for Punts sailing during Punt Championship weekend. Four races to count. Prawn Mug. Presented by D H Adler Esq. in 1991 for over 14s or sailing a boat with a handicap under 1250 in Junior Week with four races to count. Progress Challenge Cup. Presented by J Hoseason and M Thwaites in 1990 for Punts. To be awarded during the Punt Championship weekend for first over the water with four races to count. Shrimp Cup. Presented by Dr and Mrs F R Tubbs and Family in 1976 for under 14s and sailing a boat with handicap over 1250 in Junior Week. Four races to count. Silver Blue Trophy Presented by Mr and Mrs S Daniels in 2002 for YBODs with ten races to count over the whole season. Stella Challenge Cup. Presented by G E Morris Esq. in 1927 and re-assigned in 2006 to be awarded to the overall winner on handicap of the Punt Traveller series with xxxx races to count Sundog Challenge Cup. Presented by H A Morris Esq in 1927 and re-assigned in 2006 to be awarded to the overall winner on handicap of the mid-season Open Punt weekend with three out of four races to count. Sundowner Trophy. Presented by N Khambatta and T Moore in 2005 for Tuesday evening racing. To be awarded to the boat and helm that entered the most races during the season but did not win any other trophy. Sunset Trophy. Presented by N Khambatta and T Moore in 2005 for Tuesday evening racing. Points to be awarded over the whole season. Topper Trophy. Presented by the Butters and Pickworth families in 2006 for Junior Week. To be competed for by juniors in toppers. Points will be awarded over the week with 4 races to count at organiser's discretion. Turning Up Trophy. Presented by B Thompson Esq & Miss L Levine in 1989 for the boat and helm that turned up the most during the season without winning a race series. Virden Tankard. Fund donated by Mrs C J Virden and family in 1971 to enable the purchase of a tankard annually. To be awarded for Juniors U14 with a handicap 1250 & over with eight races to count over the whole season. Watson Trophy. Presented by the Watson family in 1990 originally for Wayfarers and rewarded in 2007 for Juniors sailing in any boat with handicap less than 1250 on a full course. Points over the whole season with six races to count. Helm and crew must both be juniors - no adult crew allowed. White Horse Trophy Presented by Mr & Mrs A Warwick in 1999 and awarded at the Barton Cruiser Open to the overall winner of the event. Wilson Tankards. (two). Presented by Mrs C B Wilson in 1958. 1. Junior Allcomers less Punts to be sailed for over the whole season excluding the Special programme. 2. Allcomers to be sailed for over the whole season. NPC Barton Regatta Trophies. Open trophies to be competed for on points over Barton Regatta Saturday and Sunday. Ali Moore Memorial Trophy. Presented by D Moore Esq. in 1997 for Yeomans with three races out of four to count. Balholm Salver. Presented by Mr & Mrs N Dixey in 2004 for Allcomers A with three races out of four to count. Barton Broad Punt Challenge Tankard. Presented by the Flag Officers for Punts with three races to count. Carter Cup. Presented by Mr and Mrs T E Carter in 1967 for Ladies helming Allcomers in boats with a handicap 1250 and under. De Quincey Salver. Presented by Mr and Mrs W B de Quincey in 1965 for Junior Allcomers handicap 1250 and over sailing a special course with the best three races out of four to count. Dinghy Trophy. Presented by E H Bradshaw Esq. in 1968 for Allcomers 'B' with three races out of four to count. Domino Trophy. Presented by Mr & Mrs C Chettleburgh and family in 2004 in memory of Bob and Joyce Jones. Awarded to the winner of River Cruiser Fleet A with three out of four races to count. Forbes Challenge Cup. Presented by Henry Forbes, Esq. in 1930 for Punts with three out of four races to count. Junior Members Cup. Presented by Peter H Cator, Esq. in 1948 for Juniors helming Punts during the Barton Open Regatta Saturday and Sunday. A perpetual Challenge Cup to be sailed for in a series of three races. Pollit Trophy. Presented by Mr and Mrs C R Pollit in 1965 for the River Cruiser Fleet B with three races out of four to count Tracey Tray. Presented by Dr and Mrs B M Tracey in 1968 for Mixed One-Designs, sailing level. Points will be awarded over the two days. Waxwing Trophy. Presented by Dr and Mrs O J Curl in 1976 for Mixed One Designs, Yeomans and Wayfarers with the best three races out of four to count. |
